Your home will have a truly usable front porch, where you can enjoy your porch swing and still have plenty of room for a table and chairs. Bloomington Transit Bus Routes: Bus Transit route 1 and route 7 pass along the northern and southern boundaries of the project site.
Bryan Park – less than 2 blocks away: Brian Park is Bloomington’s premier park. It has playgrounds, shelters for picnics and barbeques, a naturalized creek, a walking and biking path, volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, ball fields and an Olympic-sized pool. There are also many public events held at the park every year, including free live music shows and an open-air film series, as well as family events such as Pumpkins in the Park and an Easter egg hunt.
Downtown Bloomington – just 10 blocks: Bloomington’s historic and vibrant downtown is just minutes away, offering numerous restaurants, shops, professional services, and arts and entertainment venues. The City Hall hosts a bustling farmer’s market twice a week from early spring until late fall. Other annual downtown events include: Taste of Bloomington, Lotus World Music Festival, 4th Street Arts Fair, Sustainable Living Fair, and Arts on the Square.
Indiana University – 10 blocks: One of the nation’s top universities is almost in our backyard. If you work at IU or downtown, you'll enjoy one of the shortest bicycle or walking commutes in town. Your commute takes you along streets and sidewalks shaded by grand old trees through the charming Bryan Park and Elm Heights neighborhoods.
CSX Greenway Corridor – 6 blocks: A new multi-use walking and biking trail is planned for the former rail line just to our west. It will take you north into the heart of downtown as well as to a network of recreational trails to the south of Bloomington. The old switch yard, again just 6 blocks away, is planned to become a significant new Bloomington park.
Templeton Elementary School – 1 block: This innovative neighborhood school is just seconds away from South Dunn Street. What better way for kids to start their educational careers?
Bloomington South High School – 4 blocks: One of the best high schools in Indiana is an easy walk away. Family schedules and after school activities won’t need to be planned around the availability of a car for drop-off and pick-up twice (or more) a day.
South Dunn Street Project Retail Area – on site: Three commercial buildings will be built along Hillside Drive at the southern end of the development. Plans are to recruit such retailers as a neighborhood grocery, coffee shop, dry cleaner, and flower shop.
Nearby Neighborhood Serving Retail – within 5 blocks: There are currently numerous businesses within a few blocks of the development. These include a video store, paint store, appliance repair shop, convenience store/gas station, and a lumber & hardware retailer.
5-minute drive – access to major shopping areas on the east and west sides of Bloomington.
